An eBook is not a print book. It is read on many diverse devices from a PC and IPad screen in glorious living color all the way down to a Smart Phone (iPhone). You can't think of us at A Thirsty Mind as typesetters. Although we do initially work within Microsoft Word, constructing the form of your eBook within that platform, our final output is built upon html code, the same platform used in building websites. In Word you THINK YOU KNOW what the appearance of your final document will be; in html you KNOW what it will be! Well, sometimes there are small surprises when the ebook is uploaded to the specific eStores through their process because this is new technology and is constantly being upgraded and improved (hopefully improved). But all in all "HTML" will give good results. That is not to say that you just save a Word document to "Other" - "Webpage-filtered" and you're good to go. That html document most likely will have to be edited and validated at several online sites before it's ready to be used for conversion. After all Word and html ARE NOT THE SAME...it's like apples and oranges, actually. But it's a process and it seems to work.
